What is continence?

Sexual continence, or Brahmacharya, implies sexual contact without ejaculation while attaining an endless number of orgasms by both lovers (at the same time or separately). Sexual continence assumes fully conscious control over the sexual functions of the man or woman.  Hence, this method to live the erotic act does not finalize through ejaculation for the man or through explosive discharge of the creative specific potential for the woman.  Being a superior form of eroticism, sexual continence permits the biological transmutation of the creator sexual potential into superior forms of vital, psychic, mental, spiritual energies, gearing some ineffable inner sublimation processes.

A tantric relation between a man and a woman is a relation which enjoys an emotional and profoundly erotic intimacy and is based on sincere and open communication between the two lovers. If we want our relationship to blossom then we have to cultivate reciprocal trust and respect, spiritual opening, and a profound and delicious state of intimacy.

The central idea of tantric wisdom is accomplishing the unity and harmonic state, by establishing a stable state between the male and female polar forces, which rule all of Existence. According to Tantra, the perfect communion between these two harmonious complementary forces can give birth to the Infinite Happiness (Bliss).

…How wonderful it is to make love! ... Yes, but…to make love, not sex. Sex is pleasant also, but love makes us feel and even become kind, beautiful, generous and powerful – maybe just like gods. It is not said in vain that, when love is infinite, the impossible easily becomes possible.

But we might ask ourselves, what is the difference between love and sex? There is, of course, quite a big difference, and this is precisely the feeling of love. It is wonderful to love and be loved, but a peak of love is to make love. That is, when love is missing, even if sexual attraction exists, we are talking about sex and when love is also present, making love is a wonderful accomplishment and a peak of love.
